"Seeing the brilliance and simplicity of things as they are provides ground for genuine creative expression."
—Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
Originally introduced by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and further developed by his son and dharma heir, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, Shambhala Art is a body of teachings and practices concerning the relationship between art and the meditative state of mind. During this one-day workshop, we will alternate between sitting meditation and Shambhala Art exercises that explore sense perceptions, object arrangement, and movement in space. Participants will be asked to bring one ordinary household object and one unusual object to the workshop.
Acharya David Schneider is a senior teacher within the Shambhala Buddhist lineage. He is known to be a brilliant, provocative, humorous, and compassionate teacher. He is an artist and author and has been a teacher of Shambhala Art for many years.
The suggested donation for this one-day program is $60 ($50 members). To register or for more information, please contact Rachel Anderson at 707-939-7886 or satellitepubs1@comcast.net.
